SAN PATRICIO COUNTY INDIGENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
In 1985, the First Called Special Session of the 69th Texas Legislature passed Chapter 61, Health and Safety Code (https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/HS/htm/HS.61.htm). Their legislative intent was to ensure that Texas residents, that lacked financial resources and did not qualify for other state or federal health care assistance programs, could receive health care through the County Indigent Health Care Program.
Eligibility Criteria
- Resident of San Patricio County
- Household is a person living alone, or two or more persons living together and where legal responsibility for support exists, excluding disqualified persons.
- Have income level at or below 21% federal poverty guidelines
- Have resources less than $2,000.00
Basic Health Care Services Provided
All services must be medically necessary. Some services include: primary care, immunizations, inpatient & outpatient hospital services, lab & x-ray, skilled nursing facilities, and 3 prescriptions per month.
How to Apply
You may contact our office by phone, or in person for a screening. If you are potential candidate for the program, an application will be issued or mailed to you. SPCIHCP has referrals for the individual(s) that do not qualify.
